There is time-limited on-street parking in clearly marked bays nearby. If you park in any other place you will receive a penalty charge notice. There are also public car parks within 10 minutes' walk.

There are 3 payment stations situated in the main car park for payment before exit. The payment stations are cashless payment only. Contactless payment is accepted. To pay for your parking, scan the original ticket followed by the discount ticket.

If you are planning to arrive by bicycle please let your meeting host know so they can arrange to let you into the cycle park.

Park and Ride at Coventry Arena Station (train)

Take the train from Coventry Arena to Coventry station. The hourly service takes 8 minutes. Annual rail season ticket loans [https://coventrycc.sharepoint.com/Info/Pages/Travelcards.aspx] are available for staff.

Rail passengers can use Ricoh Arena car parks A & B when using Coventry Arena Station. You can pay for your parking in advance online by completing the online season ticket form via  https://www.glideparking.com/ricoh-arena/ [https://www.glideparking.com/ricoh-arena/] or pay on foot on the day.

Rail parking costs £2.50 per day.

Season tickets to park are also available:

  • £8.75 per week
  • £35 per month
  • £362.50 per year

On arrival park in car park A or B and walk to the station entrance by car park B.

When you return you can exit the car park if you have pre-paid for your parking online.

Car parks

The nearest council car park is Coventry Railway Station [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/directory-record/57445/railway-station-car-park] (access from Eaton Road). 

On-street car parking restrictions

On-street parking is not permitted anywhere in the city centre other than clearly marked metered bays, where you must buy a ticket and display it clearly. If you park in any other place you will receive a penalty charge notice.

On-street parking is very limited around Friargate as there are residents' parking schemes [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/parking-2/residents-parking-schemes] on adjacent streets: including Stoney, Manor and Park Roads and surrounding streets across Cheylesmore, Charterhouse, Earlsdon and The Butts. Parking in a residents' parking area when it is in operation without a valid permit is not allowed and you are likely to get a parking ticket.

Motorcycle parking

Motorcycle parking [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/directory-record/49436/warwick-road-motorcycle-parking] is available 5 minutes walk away on Warwick Row.

Accessible transport

Buses

Friargate is served by accessible low floor buses,which stop at the Station Interchange nearby. Ask the driver if you need to lower the step or to use the access ramp to get on or off.  The dedicated wheelchair space is normally located on the right hand side of the bus. There are also four priority seats for disabled people, which are generally located in the first row of seating, These seats have extra legroom and space underneath for an assistance dog. 

Trains

Coventry Station offers step free access to all platforms and wheelchair spaces are provided on trains. Please speak to station staff if you require a ramp between the platform and the train.
If you are using an unstaffed station you will need to let the conductor on the train know you need a ramp.  Check if your station [http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations_destinations/default.aspx] is accessible.

If you need assistance to help you make your train journey you can request this, at least 24 hours in advance if possible. 

Taxis

There is a taxi rank at Coventry station and all Hackney carriage vehicles licensed in Coventry are fitted with a ramp to provide wheelchair access. Taxi information [http://www.coventry.gov.uk/info/25/taxi_and_minicab_licensing/744/taxi_licensing_-_passengers_and_general_public/4].
