The Community Resilience Team in partnership with our ICT and Digital Service have once again secured a number of recycled laptops for distribution to community groups and voluntary sector organisations across the city.
This exciting scheme returns for a fourth time, having already issued 473 laptops we hope that this round will further support the sector to increase access to digital technologies and will also help the sector to become stronger, improve services and introduce new services for the residents of Coventry.
We know that there is an increasing need for the public to access services through means of digital technology. This includes accessing online data, paying for services online, giving feedback via digital platforms and interacting with social media.
We are encouraging groups and organisations to apply for the laptops, demonstrating how the laptops will be used for the benefit of the public or how this will enable the group or organisation to grow or do things better and smarter.
This scheme is primarily aimed at those with no or limited access to digital technology or projects that target those with limited access or can use the equipment as a way to alleviate social isolation. However applications will be considered from larger or well established organisations where a project will complement the delivery of Council services or those that have taken on the delivery of a council service or exploring the possibility of taking on the transfer of a Council service.
