Multi-faith and quiet contemplation room at Central Library

Central Library has established a multi-faith and quiet contemplation room on its main floor. This space serves as a 'neutral' area open to individuals of various faiths, beliefs, and those for whom religion holds no specific significance in their lives.

The room is available for use by visitors without booking. It offers a designated space for spiritual or religious activities, designated prayer, as well as a space for peace, quiet and reflection, to sit and contemplate, to take a few moments to de-stress from a busy day, or to recover from a traumatic life event, such as bereavement.

The size of the room means that a maximum of two people can use the room at any one time. Users of the room must not discriminate against people of the same faith, people of different faiths, or people of no faith.

Opening times
