Five weeks of outdoor activity camps will be held in Coombe Abbey Park this summer by Coventry Outdoors Education Service, part of Coventry City Council.
The camps are open to anyone between the ages of 11 and 15. Each participant is guaranteed to have an unforgettable adventure, which will include learning survival techniques, to taking part in all sorts of outdoor activities and challenges, whilst making new friends and having lots of fun!
Activities include:
- Combat Archery
- Laser Tag
- Bushcraft
- Survival Skills
If you know a young person between the ages of 11 and 15, we encourage you to sign them up so they can spend the summer having an exceptional experience and learning new skills.
Cllr Dr Kindy Sandhu, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to get involved in outdoor adventures and fun. The camps provide so many exciting activities that will undoubtedly get young people stimulated on the day and beyond.
“Each person will be equipped with what could be future life skills, preparing them for adulthood whilst having an enjoyable time which is what the camps are all about! I look forward to seeing and hearing all about the new adventures that are to take place over the summer.”
The Outdoor Education Team aim to provide a world-class service that equips children and young people with the vital skills, knowledge and experiences to assist them in their transition to adulthood; whilst using the outdoor environment as an integral part of their learning and development.
Chloe Groves, Outdoor Educational Lead at Coventry City Council said: “Coventry Outdoors aim to build a holiday provision which will be memorable and have long-lasting impact for children, young people and their families in Coventry.
“Our Outdoor Activity camps are underpinned by qualities that include respect, leadership, motivation, resilience, self-confidence and many more but most importantly to have lots of fun!!”
