To mark National Apprenticeship Week 2024, Coventry City Council is sharing the experiences of their very own apprentices.
As part of the Council’s commitment to fostering talent and providing valuable opportunities, four fantastic apprentices, each working with different Council services, volunteered to talk about their positive experiences.
Sam, Stephanie, Andrew and Taranveer were interviewed as part of the awareness week and are keen to explain why young people should look into apprenticeships at the Council and find out what it offers.
Five videos will be released during National Apprenticeship Week from 5-11 February.
Throughout the week, viewers will gain an insight into the diverse and rewarding experiences of apprentices working with Coventry City Council. These videos aim to inspire and inform individuals considering apprenticeships as a viable and enriching career path.
Two free online sessions are also being held on the first day of National Apprenticeship Week that will be tailored to the carers, parents, and guardians who play a crucial role in guiding the career choices of young individuals.
These informative sessions will provide a comprehensive overview of apprenticeships, the application and selection process, and the wealth of opportunities available within the council.
The Apprenticeship Information Sessions will cover the following topics:
- An introduction to Coventry City Council as an employer
- An overview of apprenticeships and their benefits
- Personal testimonials from current apprentices sharing their experiences
- A detailed explanation of our application and selection process
- Information on the additional support provided to our apprentices
- A dedicated Q&A session for attendees to ask questions.
The online sessions will be held on Monday 5 February at 1pm and 6pm. Attendees are required to sign up for the session in advance.
Councillor Richard Brown, Cabinet Member for Strategic Finance and Resources, which covers apprenticeships at the Council, expressed enthusiasm for the celebratory week, stating:
"National Apprenticeship Week is an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate the achievements of our apprentices and showcase the incredible opportunities available within Coventry City Council.
“We are especially excited to offer informative sessions for carers, parents, and guardians, providing them with the knowledge and insights needed to support the career aspirations of their loved ones."
