In partnership with Sir Michael Marmot and the UCL Institute of Health Equity (IHE), Legal & General has launched a £3m ‘Health Equity Fund’.

The grant is available for registered charities, social enterprises, NHS Trusts, primary care organisations, universities/academic organisations and community groups which tackle the root causes of health and social inequalities.

Grant funding of up to £75,000 per project is available and could be used in many different ways. For example, enabling children living in areas of deprivation to live healthier lives, community programmes which relieve pressures on A&E, improving housing or raising awareness of the contribution that the environment makes to health and wellbeing.

Interested organisations will need to register as a Health Equity Network Member to apply for the grant. Expressions of interest will then be received by an advisory board.

The deadline for applying for the fund is 6 September.
