Go CV members are set to enjoy new incentives on ticket prices to shows created in Coventry, thanks to a brand-new partnership with the city’s iconic Belgrade Theatre.
Through new functionality on the theatre’s ticketing system, Go CV members will be able to unlock exclusive discounts on a selection of shows produced by the Belgrade Theatre, making them even more affordable and accessible.
Shows that are part of the offer include After Sunday, The Lightning Thief and Well Done Mummy Penguin with many more to follow.
It is hoped the new partnership will encourage more local residents to engage with the increasing number of productions the Belgrade creates.
Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, said: “Go CV is all about improving what’s on offer for Coventry residents, and this new partnership with the Belgrade Theatre is a fantastic example of that mission in action.
“By offering automatic discounts through a simple and user-friendly system, we are highlighting and incentivising access to the high-quality theatre that’s made here in Coventry.
“Initiatives like this not only enrich lives through access to culture, arts and community, but also help residents save money while connecting with the best our city has to offer.”
Councillor Naeem Akhtar, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, added: “Coventry has a vibrant cultural heritage, and it’s vital that we continue to create opportunities for our communities to enjoy and celebrate it.
“Partnerships like this one between Go CV and the Belgrade Theatre play a crucial role in encouraging people to connect with the incredible talent we have in the city.
“By encouraging further engagement with live theatre, we are not just offering entertainment, but building pride in local creativity, investing in our cultural sector and ensuring the arts remain a central part of life in Coventry. “
Laura Elliot, Chief Executive Officer at the Belgrade Theatre, said: “The Belgrade Theatre has played a huge part in the lives of Coventry residents since it first opened its doors in 1958. Our commitment to providing great entertainment as well as supporting health, education, and building skills and talent in the region remains at the heart of who we are as an organisation. Everything we do is with, by and for our local communities.
“This new partnership with Go CV is a perfect opportunity to work even more closely with key partners in the city; to help open up access and raise awareness of the work we do and the shows that are created right here in Coventry.
“We’re here to create new community connections, encourage different perspectives, and co-create with the people of Coventry to share the city’s diverse stories. We hope this partnership will encourage even more people in Coventry to come along and help us share the city’s stories”
The integration of Go CV to the Belgrade Theatre’s ticketing system was made possible thanks to funding from the HM Government’s and West Midlands Combined Authority’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Fund.
Go CV is Coventry City Council's free membership scheme for residents, offering exclusive access to discounts and offers on local events, activities and attractions, as well as savings from local businesses. Coventry residents can sign up on the Go CV website.
