When household waste bins are collected, the waste is taken to the Waste to Energy Plant off London Road.

Every two years, the site closes for routine maintenance for two weeks. This means from Monday 15 September, for two weeks, waste crews will be taking collected household waste to another site in Bubbenhall to empty their lorries.

This means that green-lidded bin collection rounds may take longer than usual. The Council will provide additional drivers and vehicles to help prevent disruption, but some residents may not get their household waste (green-lidded bin) emptied on their scheduled day.

Residents are asked to leave their missed bins out and crews will return the following day to ensure they are emptied.

Recycling (blue-lidded) and garden waste (brown-lidded) bins will not be affected.

Check your scheduled collection day.
