We’re lucky to have over 400 parks and green spaces in Coventry. It’s a big task to look after these spaces, so we wanted to introduce you to the team who do just that.
Our Urban Rangers are out every day, working to protect our green spaces in Coventry.
The day-to-day work of the Rangers varies massively. From fixing broken bridges to seasonal tasks such as tree planting, hedge cutting and habitat maintenance, their job is always essential.
Beyond looking after the locations, they also make it their mission to introduce local communities to the outdoors. They host an array of events such as bat walks and planting sessions, all designed to help people of all ages commune with nature.
Of course, they also work closely with local community groups, universities, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, The Conservation Volunteers, and Community Development Services to better protect our environment.
Listen to what Trevor, one of the team, had to say about their work.
The Urban Rangers are always looking for volunteers to assist them with their work. Find out how to get involved.
