Support and warm welcome for those spending Christmas alone

Coventry Good Neighbours is coordinating a wide range of supportive events, reflective services, and Christmas meals across the city to ensure that no one has to face the festive season alone.

In the days leading up to Christmas, churches and community venues are opening their doors to offer warmth, company, and a sense of connection for anyone who may be struggling, facing grief, financial pressures, health challenges, or simply not feeling festive.

Sunday 21 December 2025 – Reflective services

3pm – All Saints Allesley Blue Christmas - a quiet, reflective service for anyone finding Christmas difficult.

4pm – St Andrew’s Eastern Green Blue Christmas - a gentle service for anyone who finds the festive season hard, for any reason.

4pm – St Paul’s Foleshill a quiet Christmas -  a calm, supportive service for those not feeling festive.

7.30pm – St Mark’s, Coventry city centre Longest Night A contemplative service held on the darkest day of the year, offering comfort to those who struggle at Christmas.

Wednesday 24 December – Monday 29 December 2025

Queens Road Baptist Church, Coventry city centre Coventry Open Christmas from 11am on 24 December until 10am on 29 December, offering 24‑hour access to warmth, meals, games, conversation, and companionship. No booking required. Christmas Day lunch served 12pm–3pm on 25 December.

Thursday 25 December 2025 – Christmas day meals and warm spaces

11am–3pm – The Yard - a warm, welcoming space open to all. Free mince pies, tea, and coffee. A place for quiet reflection or friendly company.

12pm–2pm – Sky Blue Tavern free Christmas dinner (curry takeaway) for anyone in need. One meal per person. No booking required.

12.30pm – St Peter’s Hillfields Christmas Day dinner. Booking required via 024 7663 2877 or info@stpetershillfields.org.

1pm – St Oswald’s Tile Hill Christmas Day dinner. Cost is £20 per person, but organisers encourage anyone unable to pay to get in touch. More information and booking available through the venue.

2pm arrival for 3pm meal – All Souls Chapelfields, Kingsland Avenue Christmas Day dinner open to anyone wanting company and a special meal. Transport can be provided. Book via Father Paul at fr.paul.burch@rcaob.org.uk or 02476 674161.

These events, organised by Coventry Good Neighbours, aim to ensure that everyone in Coventry has access to warmth, support, and community during the festive season. No one should have to spend Christmas alone.
