Coventry City Council is encouraging parents and carers to check if their children are eligible for FREE holiday activities and nutritious hot meals through the Holiday Activities and Food programme.
From Tuesday 21 July to Tuesday 1 September, the programme will be offering a wide range of exciting activities for children and young people, including:
- Swimming sessions at The Wave
- Ice skating at Planet Ice
- Football with Sky Blues in the Community
- Multi-sports, Dance and coding sessions
- And much more
The HAF programme is designed to support children’s physical health, social wellbeing and confidence, giving them opportunities to stay active, make new friends and enjoy enriching experiences during the school holidays.
Councillor Mal Mutton, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “It’s fantastic that we have been able to secure funding again to keep our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme running this year. We recognise that there is an increased demand from our children in Coventry, and so we are trying to accommodate all eligible children as best we can. This programme has been immensely successful in previous years and it gives low-income families an opportunity to rest, knowing that the children are well fed and taken care of.”
Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Equalities, said: “After a huge success with our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme so far, I am pleased that it is back again this year, with an increased demand. We aim to reach as many eligible young people in Coventry as we can, making it accessible for them, providing fresh meals and taking the pressure off low-income parents who are struggling to find activities for their children.”
Parents and carers are encouraged to find out more, check eligibility and book activities by visiting: https://www.eequ.org/coventryhaf or by following Coventry HAF on Facebook for the latest updates.
Bookings go live on Thursday 18 June. Don’t miss out on a summer full of fun, food and opportunities for your child.
