Coombe Abbey Park has been recognised as one of the region’s leading visitor attractions, with a high-scoring rating by VisitEngland.

The popular destination received an impressive 93% overall score in its latest Quality Assured Visitor Attraction assessment – one of the tourism industry’s most respected national benchmarks.

The scheme provides an independent assessment of visitor attractions against recognised standards for visitor experience, customer service, facilities and presentation.

The result shows that visitors to Coombe Abbey Park are receiving a consistently high-quality experience, supported by excellent customer service, well maintained facilities and an attractive, welcoming environment.

Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport, at Coventry City Council, said: “We are delighted that Coombe Abbey Park has achieved such an outstanding result through VisitEngland’s nationally recognised assessment programme.

“A score of 93% is a significant achievement and provides independent confirmation of what our visitors tell us every day – that Coombe Abbey Park offers a first-class experience for everyone who comes to enjoy its beautiful landscapes, heritage and attractions.

“This accreditation is particularly important because it validates the hard work and investment that has gone into maintaining Coombe as one of the region’s most loved destinations. It also provides valuable reassurance to visitors, partners and stakeholders that the park is operating to the highest standards.”

The assessment highlighted several areas of exceptional performance across the park, including a remarkable 97% score for staff, with assessors praising the team’s enthusiasm, friendliness, knowledge and commitment to customer care.

The park’s arrival experience achieved a perfect 100% score, reflecting the positive first impression visitors receive when entering the site, and assessors also recognised the breadth of experiences available, including the heritage, nature conservation work, educational opportunities, family activities, outdoor recreation and year-round events programme.

The quality of interpretation and visitor information was commended for helping visitors engage with the park’s rich history, wildlife and landscapes, and the dog-friendly offer also received special praise, with the assessor describing it as among the best they had seen.

The grounds, buildings and visitor facilities were also recognised for their high standards of presentation, maintenance and cleanliness.

The VisitEngland accreditation strengthens visitor confidence and enables Coombe Abbey Park to promote its achievement through VisitEngland’s recognised Quality Assured branding.
