Residents in Bell Green are invited to free activities for Wednesday 16 September to Friday 18 September.
The programme brings together jobs and skills support, wellbeing advice and action to make the area cleaner and greener and boost pride.
The event begins with Job Fest from 1pm-4pm on Wednesday 16 September at North Point Church, Park Edge Community and Best Start Family Hub on Roseberry Avenue. Residents can drop in, meet employers, apply for jobs and find out about free training, apprenticeships and other support.
Employers including Cadent Gas, NP Aerospace, Coventry City Council, the NHS and Warwickshire Police will all be there with a range of jobs and opportunities. Health and wellbeing advisers will also offer information on healthy lifestyles, help to stop smoking, talking therapies, family health and energy advice.
Residents can also try cycling with British Cycling, while ABC Boxing Club will hold a demonstration and activities from 2pm-3pm outside North Point Church and 3pm-4pm outside Bell Green Working Men's Club.
On Friday 18 September, residents can volunteer for planting and growing activities in the park next to the Family Hub from 10am-12pm. The session will include growing from seed, creating attractive planters and learning about the local environment.
Friday will also begin with the Council’s Streetpride team removing fly-tipped waste and cleaning the roads and paths in the morning, followed by a Big Cleanup from 1pm-3pm, where residents can join volunteers to litter pick around Riley Square and help clean sections of the River Sowe.
Cllr Naeem Akhtar, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities at Coventry City Council, said: "Earlier this year, residents who lived in Bell Green told us they wanted more help to find jobs, more support, and a cleaner environment. So, we want to work with residents to make changes to the things people have told us matter most to them.
"By bringing together opportunities to find work, build skills, improve health and improve the local environment, we want to help people feel proud of Bell Green and positive about its future.
"Over two days, we will see Council teams, partners and local groups and people come together to make a difference and show their love for Bell Green."
