Safety advice and support

  • Supporting specific health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Managing the consultation process through Corporate and Operational Health and Safety Committees
  • Audit of health and safety management systems and compliance with legislation
  • Supporting the development of Health and Safety Action Plans
  • Site-based monitoring and inspections
  • Supporting with risk assessments and control measures
  • Managing the incident reporting for the City Council
  • Reporting RIDDOR reportable accidents/incidents to the HSE
  • Liaison with other local authority departments to ensure systems are joined up, including advising on asbestos and legionella
  • Specialist technical advice/support during major refurbishment/building work, meeting the requirements of the CDM Regulations
  • Liaison with the HSE, Police, Fire Service, insurance services and other agencies, in accident reduction initiatives
  • Support with emergency planning and fire safety
  • Assessment of first aid provision
