To make sure that everyone can enjoy parks, and to protect the infrastructure and wildlife, everyone should respect their local park.

You can help:

  • Dispose of litter and dog waste in the bins provided, or take it home with you.
  • Keep your dog under control. Your dog may be friendly, but not everyone feels safe around dogs, and your pet can disturb wildlife too.
  • Have fun, use your local park for exercise and sport.
  • Join your local Friends of the Park group or start a new one.
  • Care for wildlife and enjoy nature.

But please:

  • Don't use barbecues or light fires in parks. Fires can easily get out of control causing damage to parks and danger to park users.
  • Don't use motorised bikes, vehicles and drones in parks without permission, for the safety of other visitors.
  • Don't pick flowers, collect wood (even dead wood as this is important habitat) or otherwise cause damage to wildlife.
  • Don't dig without permission. This causes damage, but it is also dangerous due to buried services such as electricity and gas.
  • Don't feed wildlife. Excess food can be bad for wildlife and attract vermin.
