This privacy notice explains how we use information about you when you use the online book review form on our website.
Why we need your information
For the book reviews we only ask for your first name, the school that you go to and a contact email address. This is so that we can approach the right schools to present the awards at our Celebration Event and for the schools to know which pupils might want to be involved in this or other Book Award events. We do not ask for any other personal information.
Who we share your information with
We will only share the information with participating Coventry schools. The reviews that appear on the website will be anonymous with no identifying information made public.
How long we keep your information for
We only keep information about you in order to provide an overview of the participating schools during each cycle of the Book Awards. Once that information is no longer required it will be permanently deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of information we hold about you
- Correct any information about you
- Restrict processing of data
- Ask for us to erase or delete information we hold about you
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office

Complaints
You have the right to complain if you are unhappy with the way your request is handled, or disagree with a decision made by the Council about your data. If you want to make a complaint you can contact the Data Protection Team (DPO) and request a review of the decision.
