Facilities in War Memorial Park - Print version

The sports facilities in the park include:

• 8 Full size Tennis courts (4 Floodlit) and 2 mini courts. 
• 12 football pitches
• Flat green bowls 
• Cricket pitch. Please phone for details.

Charges are made for using these facilities, which helps with the cost of maintaining the park.

Changing is available in the main pavilion, which also provides a small shop selling souvenirs and refreshments, toilets, showers, and a cafe.

Cash payment is not available for sports or facility usage, only card payment.

Tennis

Opening times and tennis court booking

All Tennis Court bookings at War Memorial Park are now taken through I2C Tennis and Tennis Court booking must be made through the War Memorial Park tennis online booking system [http://clubspark.lta.org.uk/WarMemorialParkTennisClub].

Bookings and payments can no longer be made at the Tennis and Bowls Pavilion.

Equipment hire is not available.

Room to hire

We have two rooms based in the visitors centre which can be booked individually or as one larger space. 

The first room available measures at 41.25m2 and the second room measures at 36.75m2. If combining both as one larger space they measure at 78m2.  

Both rooms have access to toilet facilities and include the use of table and chairs. We can accommodate 29 people per room without the use of tables, 26 people with tables.

When combining both rooms as one larger space, the maximum capacity is 58 people without tables and 52 people with tables included.   

When booking the room to hold physical classes we recommend no more than 10 participants plus trainer / instructor per room.

Please note that the Education room can only be booked during the opening times of the Visitor Centre.

Prices

Charges include the use of a tea urn, kettle and cups, but not food or drinks. Refreshments can be purchased or arranged through the park's cafés.

Cafe facilities in the park

The War Memorial Park has three outlets providing refreshments from coffee to a meal.

The Bistro (located at the Tennis office): Open  Monday to Friday 9am - 4.30pm Weekends 8am - 5pm

The Park Bistro serves breakfast, small plates, afternoon tea and supper, including fresh pastries, homemade sausage rolls and a chef's special burger. Grab and Go ( located at the Visitor Centre): Open Weekends and School Holidays 9am - 4pm

Gelato Bar ( Located by the Skate Park): Open Weekends and School holidays 11.30am - 5pm 

Park Gelato is a charming ice cream kiosk opposite the skate park at War Memorial Park, perfect to grab a quick bite or cool down on a hot day. We serve a wide selection of ice creams, snacks and hot and cold drinks – perfect for children and parents alike!
