Circular Economy literacy training

The West Midlands Combined Authority has created Circular Economy Literacy training for SMEs, businesses and anyone with an interest in sustainable consumption.

The course is designed to learn about how to reuse and repurpose materials and embed circular practices within a business or community.

The training has been created by the WMCA and Cirklo Consult LTD and is split into three e-learning modules that can be completed at your own pace. The time to complete each module is estimated at between 20 and 30 minutes, though some learners may be quicker and others may take longer.

The modules are:

1 - Introduction to Circular Economy

This module covers why a circular economy is needed, key circular economy principles, the social, environmental and economic benefits of a circular economy and WMCA context and our Routemap.

2 - Circular Economy opportunities

This module covers circular economy business models and case studies in clothing, food, manufacturing, construction and communities.

3 - Implementing Circular Economy in your organisation

This module covers incorporating circular strategies and solutions into your business, drivers including policy and regulation, levers to enable change and metrics to measure impact.

Once you have completed your three modules, you can take the assessment. The assessment can be retaken at any time.

Once you have passed the assessment, you will be issued with a Circular Economy Literate digital badge that you can display in your email signature or via LinkedIn. You will also receive a certificate from the CPD Certification Service and can use the hours towards your CPD portfolio.
