Coventry City Council reserves the right, from time to time to change these Terms and Conditions at our sole discretion. You will be given 28 days notice of any significant changes to the terms of the membership before they go live.
The Terms and Conditions applicable to the services provided will be the version that is current and displayed on the Council’s website www.coventry.gov.uk/cycling
Members found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions may have their membership cancelled with immediate effect with no refund and this may result in the forfeiture of any deposit and a lifetime ban from any of the Council’s cycle parking facilities or services.
By becoming a member, you confirm you have read, understand, and agree to these terms of service.
Meanings
In the Terms and Conditions of Service, the following words are defined;
- Member - the individual who pays for and wants to use the services provided by the Operator;
- Membership - the service provided by the Operator to the Member;
- Facility - the cycle hub which is owned and managed by the Operator and where the Member’s bicycle will be stored;
- Access Control - the software provided by Movatic for Bluetooth access to the facility;

- The Coventry Station Cycle Hub (Warwick Road) is managed and operated by Coventry City Council, PO Box 7097, Coventry, CV6 9SL
Registration
- Coventry City Council reserves the right to refuse any registrations.
- To register as a member, you must:
- Be aged 16 years or over.
- Ensure all information provided by you is accurate
- Have an email address
- Have a smartphone and download the Movatic App
- Agree to these Terms and Conditions
Membership
- Admission to the Cycle Hub is limited to members holding a current and valid membership on the Movatic App.
- Failure to comply with these terms and conditions or misuse of the Cycle Hub may result in your membership being revoked and terminated. No refunds will be given.
- A valid membership on the Movatic App must be shown to any authorised Coventry City Council when requested.
- Membership is non-transferable and use is restricted to the member only.
- Misuse of the membership will result in it being revoked and terminated.
- Members can cancel their membership at any time using the Movatic App.
- Membership must be renewed annually.
- Following the end of a 12 month term where membership has not been renewed, bicycles left in the Cycle Hub will be treated as being abandoned. Three attempts will be made to contact the owner over a period of six weeks following which the bicycle will be disposed of at the discretion of Coventry City Council.
- Only one bicycle is permitted per Membership. Members found to be storing more than one bicycle will be in breach of the Terms and Conditions and the unauthorised bicycle may be removed by the Operator without notice.
- Members are responsible for the membership on the movatic App and for ensuring they understand how to use the Cycle Hub and for securing cycles to the stands using appropriate locks.
- Instructions for the safe use of the two-tier cycle racks is displayed in the Cycle Hub. Members need to ensure they have read and fully understood the instructions prior to using the cycle racks.

- 13. If your phone is lost or stolen and you need to cancel your membership, you can report it using the Report a Parking Issue form
Term
- Membership will expire at the end of the 12 month term unless it is renewed.
- Coventry City Council may at its discretion close the facilities for regular maintenance, security or other reasons and without notice. The Council will notify Members in advance where possible.
Operation
- The Cycle Hub is for storage of bicycles only.
- Membership provides access to the Cycle Hub via the numbered gates. Select the gate on the Movatic App.
- Cycle spaces are provided on a first come, first served basis and membership does not guarantee the availability of a space in the Cycle Hub.
- The Cycle Hub provides parking for standard pedal cycles on two-tier racks. E-bikes should use the lower-tier. Trikes and cargo-cycles have dedicated stands within the larger compound.
- Motorbikes are not permitted to use the Cycle Hub.
- Members should ensure that any associated cycle equipment (e.g. helmets) are safely secured to the cycle and do not impede other users.
- Personal items cannot be stored or left in the Cycle Hub. Any items that are left unattended will be removed. Any items that are not claimed within one month will be disposed of.
- Smoking is not permitted within the Cycle Hub.
- Bicycles that appear to have been abandoned for a period of 6 weeks will be tagged with a notice prior to their removal. Attempts will be made to contact the bicycle owner. A period of seven days will be given for the bicycle to be removed and/or the Owner to contact Coventry City Council for more information. If after that time the owner has not made contact with Coventry City Council and the bicycle still remains, then it will be removed and placed into storage. If after 6 weeks of being placed in storage the bicycle has still not been claimed, then it should be disposed of at Coventry City Council’s discretion and Coventry City Council will not be liable for compensating Members.
- Members must not lock or secure the cycle to any object or property other than the cycle rack.
- Members must not damage, deface or vandalise the Cycle Hub or any of the equipment or property in any way or exceed the manufacturer’s maximum load capacity which is displayed on the cycle rack.
- Use of the Cycle Hub is entirely at the member’s own risk and Coventry City Council does not accept responsibility for loss or any damage to the members’ property. Members are responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of insurance cover for their property.
- The Cycle Hub is an access-controlled cycle parking facility. For public safety, members are advised that in the event of a power or mechanical failure, the automatic doors are set to a default ‘open’ position until repairs can be carried out.
- Coventry City Council recommends the use of D-style locks, securing the frame and wheels to the rack.

Operating hours
- The Cycle Hub is accessible 24/7. Coventry City Council reserves the right to vary the operating hours.
- The temporary closure of the Cycle Hub may be necessary on occasions in the event of equipment maintenance, malfunction or other reasons, and Coventry City Council will not be liable for any journey delays, costs or inconvenience to customers as a result.
Cost and pricing
- Membership is currently provided free of charge.
- The cost of membership will be reviewed annually. Where applicable, membership fees must be paid in advance at the commencement date. Membership payments are non-refundable.
- Members may cancel their membership within 14 days of signing up to receive a full refund. After the 14-day cooling-off period, no refunds will be given for a membership cancellation.
- All prices are set by Coventry City Council and are subject to change. Existing members will be notified of any increase to memberships before their renewal date.
Privacy and data protection
- By becoming a Member, you accept and agree to the monitoring and gathering of information for purpose of facility usage/performance and security purposes of all Members’ access/usage. Each facility stores usage information (time and date) of individuals' unique Membership ID registered to them.
- Coventry City Council may share user data with third-party companies that are essential to providing services to you and contract fulfilment. This includes organisations which are critical to fulfilling customers’ orders including manufacturers, sub-contractors and couriers when required.
- On occasion, Coventry City Council may share the Member’s data with organisations and Local Authorities with a legitimate interest, in order to show a demand for products and services. In these circumstances, the Member’s data will be anonymised and used for statistical purposes only, and no personally identifiable information will be shared.
- Coventry City Council will only exchange the Member’s data with another organisation where:
- we have the Member’s express permission to do so;
- it is necessary in order to honour a contract between the Member and Coventry City Council
- there is a legal obligation to share the information;
- it is in the public interest;
- it is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;
- it is necessary to protect the vital interests of the Member or another person.
