Meet the Team

Who works in the Educational Psychology Service?

Coventry Educational Psychology Service is made up of Educational Psychologists and other specialist professionals who work together to support children and young people aged 0 to 25, their families, educational settings and wider services. We use psychology and specialist knowledge to help understand strengths and needs, promote inclusion, and support positive outcomes for learning, development and wellbeing.

Educational Psychologists (EPs) are HCPC-registered practitioner psychologists who specialise in child development, learning, emotional wellbeing and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). They work collaboratively with families, educational settings and other professionals to understand strengths and needs and support positive outcomes.

Complex Communication Specialist Practitioners (CCSPs) are highly experienced professionals who support children and young people with complex communication needs and associated social and emotional needs. They work with families, educational settings and other professionals to develop communication, social understanding and emotional wellbeing, helping children and young people to participate successfully in everyday life.

Trainee Educational Psychologists (TEPs) are undertaking doctoral training in Educational Psychology. They contribute to assessment, consultation, intervention, training and research activities under the supervision of qualified Educational Psychologists.

Assistant Educational Psychologists (AEPs) are psychology graduates who support the work of Educational Psychologists under appropriate supervision. They contribute to activities such as assessment, intervention, research, project work and resource development to support children, young people, families and educational settings.
