Short Breaks

Changes to our Short Breaks offer

Short breaks

We are committed to continuing to develop Coventry's short breaks offer in partnership with children, young people, and their parents and carers.

Coventry City Council has an engagement platform, Let's Talk. We will use this to gather ongoing feedback from users of the Short Breaks service. We will do this through regular surveys, feedback opportunities and consultations.

You can also give us feedback at anytime by emailing us using the address at the bottom of the page.

Extension of the community short breaks service

Following feedback from parents, carers and young people we are delighted to announce that the community short breaks provision is being extended. Starting in February 2020, more sessions will be available and the service will operate at different locations across Coventry.

Previous consultation

The Community Short Breaks is currently seeking to develop the service to make it better than ever for those accessing it. Over the next couple of months we will be engaging with parents, carers, special schools, charities and other organisations to develop an improved offer.

The first two engagement sessions took place in July 2019:

  1. Engagement with One Voice Parents Group on 12 July 2019
  2. Engagement with parents of current children accessing the service on 17 July 2019

For a copy of the presentation given at both sessions and a summary of the feedback and what our next steps are, see the following downloadable PDFs:

Further consultation with parents and children will take place later in 2019 once we have scoped our offer.
