NHS continuing healthcare and NHS-funded nursing care

NHS Continuing Healthcare, also known as NHS continuing care or “fully funded NHS care”, is free care outside of hospital that is arranged and funded by the NHS.  This means that you will receive care and support to meet your assessed needs at no cost to you.

More information about the assessment process for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS nursing care is available on the NHS Choices website.

Information is also available in a public information leaflet produced by the Department of Health.

If you wish to ask for an assessment to consider whether you are eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare you can either ask your social care practitioner (if you have one) and they will discuss the next steps with you, or you can contact the Clinical Assessment Team at Coventry & Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group direct.  NHS Coventry Rugby CCG are responsible for completing assessments to consider eligibility for NHS Continuing Healthcare in Coventry.
