Soothing Sounds of the City

Soothing Sounds of the City
A blackbird sings in the distance, its melody weaving through the air. Nearby, water trickles gently over stones, while a breeze whispers through the slender branches of a willow tree. The soft hum of a bumblebee drifts past, mingling with the crunch of footsteps on gravel. Crickets chirp in steady rhythm, a twig snaps, a branch creaks. Wings flutter briefly, paws patter across the earth, and far beyond the garden’s edge, the faint hum of passing cars.
Be part of a unique project capturing the calming sounds of Coventry’s natural and green spaces. Join our free Soothing Sounds of the City workshop this June!
We are hosting six separate workshops with sound magician Clare Savory helping us capture the soothing sounds around us. This will all feed into an exciting showcase coming later this year.
Workshops are open to adults aged 18+ and booking is required. Most of the workshops will include a physical walk through woodland or green space so please bear this in mind when booking your place. Stout outdoor footwear will be required. We are unable to guarantee places to sit and rest during some sessions.
