Retrospective licence
If a housing developer or agent installs temporary signage without a licence in place, they will become subject to the Retrospective Licence fee (£1000). It is intended that this charge will act as a deterrent to housing developers and/or agents from ignoring the correct process.
- Retrospective Licence Fee £1000
- Per Sign Fee £75
- Per Sign Removal Fee £150
The developer or agent may choose to then keep the signage in place for a period of six months at a higher per sign cost than an applicant who follows the correct process. However, there may be occasions or locations where unauthorised signage will need to be removed due other signage or attachments in place on lighting columns or posts.
For developers or agents whose signs are to be removed the cost per sign factors in the officer time required to administer this process as well as the costs that Coventry City Council may occur during the removal of these signs.
