Councillor Roger Bailey has represented Cheylesmore Ward since 2014 and has served as a councillor for 16 years in total.
He grew up in Coventry and was educated at St John’s School, Woodlands School and Henley College. He has a background in IT and has also worked in the tourism industry for many years as a professional Blue Badge Tourist Guide for the Heart of England.
Cllr Bailey has served on the Planning Committee for 16 years, held a number of Shadow Cabinet roles, and has also been a Director of the Belgrade Theatre.
He said:
“I love my city and its amazing heritage, which makes it truly unique in this country.
“I am proud to have been given the opportunity to serve Coventry and, alongside the Lady Mayoress, Pauline Venables, I look forward to meeting the many people and groups that make up our community.”
His chosen charities are The Royal British Legion (Coventry), Age Concern (Coventry), and The Coventry Music Museum.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Coventry
Councillor Julia Lepoidevin has been named Deputy Lord Mayor of the City of Coventry.
She was born and raised in Coventry, and has represented the Woodlands Ward since 2010.
Cllr Lepoidevin attended Hearsall, Spon Gate and Southfields Primary schools, and her secondary education was at Hearsall and Lyng Hall.
Her career has been in finance, having worked in both the private and public sector; her work experiences include Jaguar Cars and West Midlands Police where she was recently a finance manager.
She has served as a member of the Council's Finance, Corporate and Neighbourhood Services Scrutiny Board and the Health and Social Care Scrutiny Board.
She is married and has three children, and in her spare time is an active member of Hearsall Baptist Church where she serves as treasurer.
