How to reserve

Reserve online via the app

  • Go to the app once installed on your device
  • Select Coventry, GB and Coventry Libraries and login under User Profile
  • You will need your library card number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card)
  • You will need your PIN (a 4-digit number you will have been issued with when you joined the library). Don’t know your PIN? Request your PIN. If you need your PIN urgently, phone any library during opening hours.
  • You will need item details, for e.g. title, author(s) etc

If the item you want is not available on our catalogue, you can request (or inter-library loan) the item.

The Iguana Library app is available for smartphones and tablets that run the Android, iOS or Windows operating system (excluding Amazon Kindle Fire devices - these run the Android OS but the Iguana Library app is unavailable in the Amazon app store). You will need to visit the app store for your device and download the app. The app is one of the easiest ways to use our service.

  • If you have an Android device (most Samsung, Sony etc devices), the Iguana Library app is available through the Play Store.
  • If you have an iOS device (all Apple devices), the Iguana Library app is available through the App Store.
  • If you have a Windows device (all Microsoft devices, some Nokia devices), the Iguana Library app is available through the Microsoft Store.

Tip - you can manage multiple accounts from our account in the app. You will need to login to your account on the app using your library card number and PIN. You will then need to select User Management, then scroll down to Add a User. You will need the library card number and PIN for each account you want to manage.

Reserve online via the website

  • Go to the online catalogue website and login to your account
  • You will need your library card number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card)

Reserve over the phone

  • Phone any library during opening hours. Don’t know a library phone number? Find a library.
  • You will need your library card number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card)
  • You will need to confirm security details over the phone (name, address, date of birth)
  • You will need item details, for e.g. title, author(s) etc

If the item you want is not available on our catalogue, you can request (or inter-library loan) the item.

If the security details (name, address, date of birth) you provide over the phone do not match the security details held on your record, we are unable to proceed with this transaction as we cannot verify your identity.

Reserve in person at the help desk

Please note: reserve in person at the help desk is unavailable during express service. This applies to Central Library only (from 1 July 2019). Limited service is available during these opening hours.

  • Visit any library during opening hours. Don’t know where the library is? Find a library.
  • Go to the help desk
  • You will need your library card to reserve item(s)
  • You will need item details, for e.g. title, author(s) etc
