It was announced at Labour Group on 2 September that street lighting across Coventry would be switched back on this month.
This has been made possible thanks to savings made through earlier energy reduction measures and a major fall in electricity prices. Street lights will come back on on 9 September 2025.
The Council will begin rolling out a major 2-year programme later in the year to replace outdated traditional streetlights with modern LED units from November.
The delivery programme by ward will be as follows:
- St Michaels - November 2025
- Sherbourne - December 2025
- Radford - January 2026
- Foleshill - February 2026
- Lower Stoke - April 2026
- Upper Stoke - May 2026
- Henley - June 2026
- Whoberley - August 2026
