It was announced at Labour Group on 2 September that street lighting across Coventry would be switched back on this month.

This has been made possible thanks to savings made through earlier energy reduction measures and a major fall in electricity prices. Street lights will come back on on 9 September 2025.

The Council will begin rolling out a major 2-year programme later in the year to replace outdated traditional streetlights with modern LED units from November.

The delivery programme by ward will be as follows:

  • St Michaels - November 2025
  • Sherbourne - December 2025
  • Radford - January 2026
  • Foleshill - February 2026
  • Lower Stoke - April 2026
  • Upper Stoke - May 2026
  • Henley - June 2026
  • Whoberley - August 2026
  • Holbrooks - September 2026

  • Wyken - November 2026
  • Bablake - January 2027
  • Earlsdon - February 2027
