Brown-lidded garden waste bin collections
You need a garden waste subscription permit if you would like your brown-lidded garden waste collected.
New permits will run from 1 June 2026 until the 31 May 2027, and the price is staying the same at £40 per bin.
There are two ways to sign up:
Apply and pay online from Monday, 20 April 2026 , using our online form. This will be self-service only.
Apply via our Customer Services team , who will be available from Tuesday 5 May on 08085 834333 to help you apply and pay by phone. Those who require in-person support can go to the Central Library.
Please be aware that Coventry, like all areas, is required to introduce a new food waste service. This will begin in September 2026. Once it starts, you will no longer be able to put any food waste in your brown lidded garden bin. You will be given a new food waste container.

Open 9am–5pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). If you do need to call us, please try to avoid our busiest times of lunchtime and early afternoon. Many queries relating to Council Tax, benefits or bin and bulky waste collections can be dealt with directly by logging into My Account.
