CSCP training
Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) deliver, develop and facilitate a programme of safeguarding and thematic training and development opportunities. Our training is available to anyone working in Coventry within the safeguarding arena. The training programme has been developed utilising support and co-facilitation from partner agencies and specialist organisations. The CSCP regularly review our training offer and identify any gaps and implement methods to ensure key messages are shared.

Safeguarding Together Action Group
Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership hosts a forum for all front-line practitioners in Coventry called the ‘Safeguarding Together Action Group’, also known as the STAG.
This forum is held online on a quarterly basis and allows staff and professionals in Coventry to network with other services and people. Each STAG has a specific theme and aims to educate all professionals with new information, legislation, training and guest speakers.

Your Voice Matters
Do you work in a school? Or community group? Or work/volunteer directly with children?
If you answered yes, then we would like the opportunity to come to your organisation or school and speak directly with children and young people!
The CSCP offer a free bespoke face-to-face workshop targeted specifically for young people aged 8 to 18. The session typically involves a series of questions and activities focused on safeguarding, safety in the City, online safety and support in Coventry.

Each session is exclusively designed to meet the needs and ages of the young people participating. Sessions normally run for 1 hour with around 10 young people, however this can be adapted depending on need and availability.
Safeguarding Awareness E-Learning
The Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership provides an e-learning package designed for practitioners and anyone working with children and families in Coventry.
This session includes an overview of safeguarding, various types of abuse, guidance on where to find help and support, and a quiz.
All delegates will receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Understanding Exploitation E-Learning
Addressing exploitation effectively requires both understanding and awareness. This e-learning module was created to provide businesses and communities with access & knowledge, helping them to better comprehend child exploitation.
The course will take around 30 minutes to complete

Domestic Abuse Awareness E-Learning
Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership and Coventry Public Health have co-developed a multi-agency domestic abuse e-learning package.
This session is an awareness raising module, designed to provide introductory level of knowledge and understanding around domestic abuse.
This session is suitable for anyone based within Coventry.

Reducing Parental Conflict E-Learning
This practical and interactive Amity e-learning module is suitable for anyone working with children, adults and/or whole families.
The course is designed to enhance your existing skills when talking about relationships with individuals or couples and will take you around an hour to finish.
Once you have successfully completed the course and quiz your certificate and Amity Relationship Toolkit will be available to download and use.â

Working Together to Safeguard Children
This session has been developed with the key points surrounding the Working Together to Safeguard Children statutory guidance. Delegates will receive specialist knowledge from a handful of trainers including representation from: Education, Health services, Children Services and Safeguarding Children Partnership. â
Participants will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of agencies involved in safeguarding children and the important of inter-agency co-operation and working.

Effective support for children and families in Coventry
This training reflects our new ways of working, emphasizing relational and restorative approaches. It provides thorough explanations of Early Help processes, including how to access services and meet the threshold for statutory intervention. Participants will gain comprehensive insights into different needs and their corresponding levels, as well as various legal interventions like Section 17. The training also covers professional expectations when working with children and families, the importance of professional curiosity and understanding consent, and offers top tips for effective engagement with children and families.

Substance Misuse and Safeguarding Children
This session aims to give participants an understanding of the risks involved in substance misuse and how parental substance misuse can impact on the safety and well-being of children and young people. Participants will look at assessment and intervention and ways of promoting and improving inter-agency working relationships to safeguard the well-being of children and young people.
This course requires attendance to two half-day sessions.

This 2-hour training session will equip delegates with further understanding around the importance of confidential and safe conversations with children and parents, whilst also considering communication dynamics and understanding how and when to communicate with children and adults. Child exploitation is a priority for Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership. We are working closely with partners and communities to raise awareness and create additional resources for everyone to use in Coventry. â

The LADO works on behalf of Coventry City Council and the Coventry Safeguarding Children Partnership to address, advise and manage allegations and concerns against staff, carers and volunteers by addressing matters of safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Engaging with adults who use abusive behaviours in intimate relationships
This training is for professionals who work with adults that may be using abusive behaviours in intimate relationships. It will equip you with tools to approach the issue of domestic abuse safely, and to engage in meaningful conversations that lead to a referral to the behaviour change programme, Make a Change. Understanding Trauma Workshops
The Vanguard Project, also known as Positive Directions have developed a suite of training designed to assist professionals with becoming trauma-informed when working with children and families.
