About memorials

There are many types of memorialisation we provide in the Gardens of Remembrance that enables you to have a meaningful and worthwhile focal point to remember, bring flowers and feel at peace with yourself.

Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance provides a lasting memorial, which is available for daily viewing. They consist of four volumes each representing a quarter of the year.

The date headed pages are turned daily for you to see your entry. The books operate on an anniversary system of your choosing i.e. date of death, birthday, wedding anniversary or any date that has a special meaning to you.

Entries of two, five or eight lines are permitted, the first line bearing the name only. With the five and eight line inscription it is possible to embellish the wording with a service badge, Coat of Arms or simply a flower or motif.

If you wish to reserve a space please ask staff for details.

Recordia panels

There are many different styles of recordia plaques located in the Gardens of Remembrance, Book Room and Columbaria. There is also a range of different finishes to the plaques including Green Brazilian slate, black leather plaques inscribed with gold lettering, granite panels and the traditional marble plaques found in the Columbaria.

It would be recommended for you to visit the Gardens of Remembrance to view the various different plaques and full range of memorials available to ensure you select the one that most suits your needs.

Memorial seats (granite only)

There is sufficient space to allow for two plaques. Granite seats require very little maintenance.

Memorial trees

Living Memorials are popular with families who wish to remember loved ones. Memorial trees are available at Canley Garden Cemetery and Crematorium.

These are existing trees located within the Gardens of Remembrance. Please contact bereavement services for further information.

Memorial roses

Our Gardens of Remembrance provide a selection of traditional standard roses in communal beds. Standards roses are also available in individual gardens.

Memorial kerb plaque

Edging the pathways are kerb plaques in blue pearl with a white marble base, india red with a coordinating base and grey granite with relief lettering on a co-ordinating granite base.

Individual memorial gardens

We have a selection of individual gardens that are situated throughout the Gardens of Remembrance and provide a beautiful living tribute to your loved one. Individual gardens offer a variety of ornamental trees and shrubs and allow for personalisation and planting of appropriate plants and bulbs within the designated border and up to six bronze memorial plaques.
