SHDF Wave 1

The Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund is a Government funded energy efficiency scheme to help improve the energy efficiency of socially rented housing in England.

In partnership with local social housing provider, Citizen Housing, Coventry City Council were successful in applying for £1 million pounds of funding from SHDF to support Citizen’s plans to upgrade the energy efficiency of their properties in Coventry.

95 homes in the Radford ward of Coventry were upgraded with energy efficiency measures including external wall insulation, loft insulation and new windows and doors.

The project will significantly improve the energy efficiency of these homes, to at least an EPC band C, and will support residents to reduce their energy consumption and bills and help them stay warm and comfortable in their homes.

In doing this, the project will also help to reduce fuel poverty and domestic carbon emissions, two key priorities for Coventry.
