On Thursday 16 May 2019, Councillor Linda Bigham was inaugurated as the Lord Mayor of Coventry for 2019-20.

Councillor Linda Bigham was born in Birmingham and educated at St. Anne’s School and the Byng Kenrick Grammar School for Girls. She took ‘A’ Levels as a mature student at Foxford School followed by a degree at the Open University.

While her children were small Linda led playgroups and Mother and Toddler Clubs, gaining a career in the Civil Service after taking her ‘A’ Levels.

She was first elected to the Council in 2004 and has worked on various committees. As a Cabinet Member, Linda was glad to play a part in the successful bid for Coventry to become UK City of Culture 2021. She has also served as Chair of Scrutiny Co-ordination Committee and is the Council’s Armed Forces Champion.

Linda has welcomed the opportunity to be a Trustee or Director of various outside bodies including Coventry Law Centre, Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre, Coventry and Warwickshire LEP, Coventry City of Culture Trust, the Belgrade Theatre Trust and Whitefriars Board among others.
