In addition to everything included in the standard subscription package for Primary Schools SLS will manage the whole annual loan service for you. Professional Librarians will select the annual loan books based on a small amount of guidance from the school (e.g. particular curriculum topics required, or targeting fiction for specific pupil groups). SLS staff will then import the new books to the school library computer system (as long as it is compatible (Junior Librarian) and remove the previous loan. The books will then just need to be put on the shelf when they arrive in school. This can be a very cost effective solution to maintaining a good school library collection especially when there are increasing demands on teaching staff time and the expense associated with classroom cover. As well as this the school will also get access to the specialised E-Book Platform created by SLS to support reading for pleasure in the classroom and at home. The school will get enough logins for one year group to be able to access the site at once. For example a 2 form entry school will get 60 logins as part of the subscription plus. Additional logins can be purchased from the PAYG menu. See E-Book Lending Platform page for further details about how the e-book platform works.
In addition to everything included in the standard subscription package for Secondary Schools SLS will manage the whole annual loan service for you. Professional Librarians will select the annual loan books based on a small amount of guidance from the school (e.g. particular curriculum topics required, or targeting fiction for specific pupil groups). SLS staff will then import the new books to the school library computer system (as long as it is compatible (Eclipse) and remove the previous loan. The books will then just need to be put on the shelf when they arrive in school. This can be a very cost effective solution to maintaining a good school library collection especially when there are increasing demands on staff time. Included in the package will be the library support package which gives additional support to the library and includes Reading Update and Secondary Forum.
