Dog fouling in gardens

Failure to keep a property free of dog fouling on a regular basis can result in a nuisance being caused by smell or flies. Under The Environmental Protection Act 1990 a Statutory Nuisance notice can be served and if the problem continues, the person responsible for the dog may face prosecution.

How to report it

Report dog foul in your neighbour's garden or a communal garden

What you need to tell us when you report dog fouling in a garden

  • If the problem is in a neighbour's garden then we will need to know the address.
  • If is in a communal garden, do you know who is responsible for the dog? If so we need the address that the dog lives at.
  • Have you actually witnessed the dog fouling?
