This page holds a list of current consultations on key strategic planning documents drafted and other policy matters currently being consulted upon by the Planning Policy Team such as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) and, when necessary, Local Plan reviews. When documents are published for consultation, they will be listed here along with the time period in which we are accepting responses.

We consulted on the first stage of the review [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/planning-policy/local-plan-review/3] in summer 2023.

We will be consulting again in the Autumn in line with our Local Development Scheme [http://https://www.coventry.gov.uk/planning-policy/coventry-local-plan-2011-2031/7] timetable, when we will update this page with information on how to respond

Statement of Community Involvement

One of the main principles behind the planning system is community involvement. We encourage the public, local organisations, businesses and others with an interest in the area to take part and have a say in different aspects of planning.

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/downloads/file/37080/statement_of_community_involvement_july_2021] sets out the way the Council will involve the local community, stakeholders and statutory bodies in the preparation of new planning policy documents and in consultation on planning applications.

Once you have done this please ensure your email settings are set to recognise correspondence from us (via Inovem Consult) to avoid the possibility of updates being filtered as spam.

Privacy notice

Coventry City Council will use your personal information to fulfil your request to be included on the Planning Policy consultation database and to process any representations and information which you submit to us to help us develop and deliver appropriate planning policy. We share this data with Inovem Ltd which provide our planning policy consultation services. We will work with the Planning Inspectorate and independent Neighbourhood Plan examiners to provide statutory plan examination services where appropriate.

We will also share information about you with the Planning Inspectorate and Neighbourhood Plan examiners in order to ensure that your representations can be considered at examination and that you can be invited to participate should this be appropriate.
