Transactional analysis for professional development
Overview
This 1-day course introduces the main theoretical concepts of TA. The concepts will be explored using examples from daily life, and simple exercises in the group, which allow participants to discuss how they might use TA theory to think about themselves and their interactions with others.
Target Group
This course is aimed at anyone wishing to expand their knowledge base, seeking an understanding of TA theory and develop their interpersonal skills.
Aims
Delegates will be able to:
- Describe basic theoretical concepts of transactional analysis
- Classify a range of interpersonal behaviours and internal processes using basic transactional analysis concepts
- Apply basic transactional analysis concepts to explore new options for understanding themselves and communicating and relating with others
Topics
Through a variety of teaching methods, tutor centered learning, individual & group exercises and discussion sessions, delegates will explore:
- A theory of human development, personality and communication
- A set of interlocking concepts which can be understood and applied for personal change
- An easily accessible language to describe and understand experience and behaviour
- A set of concepts enabling people to readily understand and integrate the concepts into their lived experience.
Note: This course is for personal development and accurately reflects practical application. Recognised certification, however, would need to be obtained from a suitable external provider.
