Additional bins
Request an extra bin
You can ask us for an extra bin if you need one.
Extra green-lidded bin
You can get an extra green-lidded bin if:
- 6 or more people live in your home
- you have a child in nappies
- someone in your home has a health condition that means you have more waste.
If we agree that you need an extra bin, we will give you a small 140-litre bin.
You will only be given an additional bin where we are confident that every reasonable effort is being made to recycle or compost
Extra blue-lidded recycling bin
You can get an extra blue-lidded recycling bin for free.
Extra brown-lidded garden waste bin
You can only get an extra brown-lidded bin if you have a garden waste permit.
What happens next?
We will check your request. A waste officer may visit your home to check that you need an extra bin.
You can apply if you own or rent the home and live there.
If the property is a house in multiple occupation (HMO), the owner, landlord or someone living there can apply.
