CAP model: September 2025 to August 2026

Coventry alternative provision graduated model of support 2025 to 2026

The Coventry Alternative Provision (CAP) model of support is a structured, student-centred framework designed to ensure that young people who are unable to thrive in mainstream education still receive high-quality, tailored learning experiences.

It operates on a graduated model, offering escalating levels of support based on individual needs - ranging from behavioural and emotional support to vocational training and therapeutic interventions. The model emphasises collaboration between schools, families and approved providers, ensuring that placements are purposeful, monitored, and focused on reintegration or progression. With clear entry and exit pathways, CAP aims to provide stability, safeguard wellbeing and prepare students for successful futures in education, employment, or training.
