What happens after you request an ASB Case Review?
We’ll confirm your request. You’ll receive confirmation that your request has been received.
We’ll check if the threshold has been met. The Community Safety Team will review your request to check whether it meets the criteria for an ASB Case Review. If the threshold is met, we will confirm this to you in writing and explain what will happen next. If the threshold is not met, we will write to you to explain why and provide advice on any other support or appeal options available to you.
Agencies will review the case together. If your case meets the threshold, relevant organisations (such as the council, police, housing providers, and other partners) will be brought together to review how your case has been handled.
You will be invited to take part. You will be invited to attend the first part of the review meeting, so that you can share your experience and ensure your voice is heard. This helps agencies understand the impact of the anti-social behaviour on you and consider your views when agreeing next steps.
We’ll agree actions and next steps. The agencies will identify any missed opportunities, agree further actions, and decide how the case should be progressed.
You’ll be informed of the outcome. You’ll be updated in writing about the outcome of the review , any actions that will be taken and information on the appeals process should you be dissatisfied with the outcome.
Appeals. If you remain unhappy after exercising an appeal or review of a decision in this process, you may be able to ask for the Local Government Ombudsman to look at your case. The Ombudsman is not a further appeal. It looks at whether public bodies have followed the right steps when taking action or reaching a decision. We will explain how you can contact the Ombudsman, when we issue a decision on any appeal requests.
