Appealing for a place

If your application for a school is unsuccessful, you have the right to have your case heard by an Independent Appeals Panel.

If you wish to appeal for either a reception place or as part of an in-year request, for a community school or any of those listed on the appeal timetable you should contact the relevant School Appeals team.

Further information on how to appeal for a school for whom the Local Authority arranges the appeals, can be found on our School Appeals page.

You can also use the FAQs (frequently asked questions) on Starting Primary school to try and answer any queries you may have on this subject.
