Expressions of Interest: Management and Lease of the Stoke Aldermoor Life Centre
The Council is inviting businesses, community groups and organisations to take on the management and lease of the Stoke Aldermoor Life Centre, 78 Round House Road, Coventry, CV3 1DA.
This exciting opportunity will see the successful applicant awarded a lease of 3 years subject to negotiation.
In this invitation, the Council is intentionally non-prescriptive about the types of proposals that are expected. All applications must include a proposal to deliver activity that has a community benefit for all of the local community.
As the opportunity has materially changed, with no income or existing user groups based at the centre, the position is different from that considered by organisations during the first EOI round, therefore a second round of EOI is required. To support with transition and the re-building of a community group foundation, the Council will for the first 6 months cover key running costs such as planned and reactive maintenance and utilities. In addition to this the Council will provide funding up to £5,000 for marketing and re-activation of the centre.
The Council is seeking an organisation which has a sound financial record that can generate the necessary income to successfully run the community centre. The organisation would need to demonstrate that they have the expertise and experience to run the centre sustainably. In addition to financial performance and ability to manage a building, the Council will require prospective organisations to demonstrate through their aims and objectives how they will keep the community centre open and available for use by all organisations and groups in the community.
In summary the key areas that we will base decisions on are as follows:
- applicants previous experience of managing a building
- financial stability of applicant
- ability and experience of the applicant
- commitment to benefitting the whole community
- robustness of business plan and financial forecasting
We are open to and willing to consider expressions of interest from partnerships so long as they are able to demonstrate their ability to manage the centre and run it sustainably. Previous applicants must re-apply as part of this new process.
