How to register for free jobs or skills support

  1. Find jobs and skills support in your local area by looking at our employment support programmes. Choose which one interests you and press on the programme logo to find out more. You can select a Delivery Partner by pressing a numbered pin on the map. Alternatively, you can scroll down the list, press the button of a Delivery Partner that interests you to view details of what they have to offer. Contact your chosen Delivery Partner for an appointment. Most Delivery Partners can arrange appointments that can take place on the phone, virtually (i.e. via Zoom or Microsoft Teams etc), or face to face – whatever is your preference and based on the current COVID-19 restrictions.
  2. Take along or show your ID documents so you can be registered to a programme and receive free support. You will be advised what to bring/show but these may include:
    • Name Example document: Passport
    • Age Example document: Birth Certificate
    • Address to show you are a resident of Coventry, Example document: utility bill
      You may also be asked for other documents
    • Right to work in the UK if non-UK national
    • Employment status (if Unemployed or Long Term Unemployed)

Identity document examples

  • Full Passport (EU)
  • Full Passport (non-EU). Passport either endorsed 'indefinite leave to remain - proceed (settled status) or includes work or residency permits or visa stamps (unexpired) and all related conditions met.
  • Driving Licence – full or provisional
  • Proof of DWP benefit – award letter
  • Birth certificate / adoption certificate
  • Recent utility bill or bank letter
  • Visa or work permit
  • Letter from the UK Immigration and Nationality Directorate granting indefinite leave to remain (settled status)
  • Residency permits for foreign nationals (usually in a passport)
  • Marriage / civil partnership certificate (if partner has legal right to live in the UK and this can be evidenced).
