Foreword
I am proud to introduce this year’s One Coventry Plan Annual Performance Report. It reflects a council and a city working together, through real challenges, to deliver lasting improvements for our residents.
This year has seen genuine successes. An ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating for Children's Services, a ‘good’ Care Quality Commission rating for Adult Social Care Services, falling crime, record tourism, and a balanced budget delivered with prudence and care. None of this happens by chance. It is the result of hard work across our services and with our partners.
The targets we have set ourselves within this report are deliberately ambitious targets. Coventry will not become a better, fairer, more sustainable city by aiming for what is easy. We aim for what is right, even when that means acknowledging the distance still to travel.
I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this year’s progress, and I look forward to building on it together.
Cllr George Duggins
Leader of Coventry City Council
