How we measure progress

We track our progress through a framework of 88 performance indicators aligned to the One Coventry Plan’s priorities. This year-end report shows how we performed on each priority as of 31 March 2026, using the latest available data for each measure. We identify trends and provide key metrics, supplemented by case studies and qualitative insights, to assess progress. We also compare Coventry’s performance to regional and national benchmarks for context.

Some indicators have been refreshed since last year as we increased our total metrics from 74 to 88 to ensure continued relevance and a 'deeper dive' into priority outcomes. Each metric is classified by progress (whether it improved, stayed similar, or worsened from last year) and by status (if a target was met or missed).

Most indicators are reported annually; where this is not the case, we will clearly state how frequently the data is available. For transparent reporting, we mark where data is not yet available.

This year 62% of the metrics we could measure had improved or remained stable, and 68% of metrics with targets were on or above target – demonstrating forward momentum across most areas. We have also grouped our 88 indicators into 20 themes under each priority, to tell a clearer performance story by topic.

Changes from last year

This year’s performance report is redesigned for clarity and impact. We reorganized indicators into thematic groups aligned to the One Coventry Plan priorities, making it easier to follow. We added new measures and refreshed existing ones in response to feedback, increasing the total number of indicators (from 74 to 88) to give a fuller picture of Coventry’s progress. These changes aim to make performance information more relevant and accessible to everyone.
